Overview

The heavy metal band DragonForce announced that vocalist Marc Hudson is taking a hiatus from recording and performing due to ongoing tinnitus issues. To protect Hudson’s health, the band introduced Alessio Garavello, Hudson’s former vocal coach, to perform alongside frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz in a dual-vocal format.

Following this lineup change, the band announced their tenth studio album, which will be self-titled and scheduled for release on March 19, 2027, via Napalm Records. The new lineup also includes rhythm guitarist Billy Wilkins. As part of the album rollout, the band released a new single and live video titled ‘Hunger of The Beast’, with guitarist Herman Li noting the new material is “unlike anything previously released by the band”.

The lead single, ‘Hunger of the Beast’, was specifically composed to showcase the contrasting vocal ranges of White-Gluz and Garavello. The upcoming album was produced by Jens Bogren and recorded across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Sweden. Longtime members Herman Li, Sam Totman, Gee Anzalone, and Alicia Vigil remain with the group. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Inhuman Rampage’, the band is scheduled to embark on a North American tour this fall.
