DRC's IGF advances digital transformation for financial control

The Inspection Générale des Finances (IGF) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is advancing its digital transformation to strengthen systemic financial control. During a working visit to Paris, IGF Head Christophe Bitasimwa Bahii met with officials from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to discuss the institution's 2026-2028 strategic plan.

A key priority of this plan is the deployment of advanced technological tools to improve the collection, cross-referencing, and analysis of public financial data. The IGF aims to establish a national financial data warehouse, intended to serve as a national hub for state financial information. This infrastructure is designed to help identify risks, detect anomalies, and anticipate irregularities in public finance management.

To support this transition, IGF inspectors are undergoing specialized training in Paris focused on data management and business intelligence. The curriculum includes modules on Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Power BI to transform raw data into actionable information. The IGF seeks to leverage French expertise in digital projects to implement these systemic control reforms.
