DreamWorks Animation brings Forgotten Island to theaters

DreamWorks Animation is releasing “Forgotten Island,” an animated feature film rooted in Filipino mythology and culture, in theaters starting September 23, 2026. The story follows lifelong friends Jo and Raissa, who are transported to the mystical island of Nakali, where they encounter creatures inspired by Filipino folklore, including the Dreaded Manananggal.

The film features a prominent cast of Filipino and Filipino-American talent, including H. E. R., Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, and Dolly de Leon. The soundtrack includes a track titled “A Parallel World” by the P-pop group BINI.

In the Philippines, SM Cinema will host the film nationwide, and the SM Mall of Asia will serve as a major stop for the “Tayo Na!” tour, which brings the cast and filmmakers to the country. Additionally, Jollibee has entered a global partnership with DreamWorks to promote the film.
