Dárek pro Putina initiative faces fraud allegations over Ukraine helicopter fundraiser

The initiative "Dárek pro Putina" is facing allegations of fraud regarding its fundraising campaign for a helicopter named "Čestmír," intended for Ukraine. An anonymous influencer, Thomas Paukner, claimed that the UH-60A Black Hawk, for which approximately 72 million CZK was collected, has not actually arrived in Ukraine and suggested the funds might have been used to purchase a machine already owned by arms dealer Jaroslav Strnad.

Ondráček, one of the founders of the initiative, denied these claims and announced that lawyers would file criminal charges for defamation on Monday. He stated that the organization actually purchased a different, less expensive helicopter for Ukraine rather than the one showcased during the initial fundraising event at Letná Plain. The initiative maintains they have communicated on social media that they would not purchase the original machine due to its high price.
