Drew Mestemaker emerges as top 2027 NFL Draft quarterback prospect

Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker is gaining significant momentum as a top prospect for the 2027 NFL Draft. According to reports from Mel Kiper Jr. and Albert Breer, Mestemaker has risen to the top of scouting boards, recently being ranked as the second-best overall player on a midseason big board and the first quarterback projected as a top-three pick in certain mock drafts.

Mestemaker has led a high-powered Oklahoma State offense, recording 2,326 passing yards and 20 touchdowns through seven games. His performance is highlighted by his ability to throw deep and his mobility.

Other notable quarterbacks in the 2027 class include Notre Dame’s C.J. Carr, who has thrown 16 touchdowns with only one interception, and Miami’s Darian Mensah, who maintains a national-leading 81.4 percent completion rate. Meanwhile, previously highly-regarded prospects Julian Sayin of Ohio State and Dante Moore of Oregon have seen their momentum impacted by injuries to their throwing arm and concussions, respectively.
