DRI Mumbai dismantles international drug route, seizes narcotics

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai Zonal Unit has dismantled an international drug trafficking route operating between Indore and Mumbai. During an operation in Mira Road, officers intercepted a Kenyan woman traveling by bus from Indore and a Nigerian national who had arrived to collect the delivery.

A search of the passenger's luggage uncovered two packets marked with “LV” containing a white crystalline substance. Field tests using NDPS diagnostic kits confirmed the substance, weighing a total of 547 grams, to be cocaine and methaqualone.

Both individuals were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The DRI is currently conducting further investigations to identify the source of the drugs, their intended destination, and any broader syndicate networks involved in the trafficking operation.
