Drishyam 3 release date announced amid production disputes

The makers of the crime thriller ‘Drishyam 3’ have announced that advance ticket bookings will open on September 27, 2026, ahead of the film’s nationwide theatrical release on October 2, 2026. The film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, serves as the final chapter in the franchise, with Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Vijay Salgaonkar.

Amid the release preparations, director Abhishek Pathak has called for formal regulations regarding actors leaving film projects abruptly. This follows the departure of Akshaye Khanna shortly before filming was scheduled to begin, an exit that necessitated script revisions and the introduction of a new character played by Jaideep Ahlawat. Pathak noted that such sudden departures jeopardize the livelihoods of crew members and technicians who depend on consistent work.

The situation has led to legal action, with producer Kumar Mangat Pathak issuing a legal notice to Khanna alleging a breach of agreement. The production, managed by Panorama Studios and Star Studio18, aims to resolve the long-standing saga featuring returning cast members such as Tabu and Shriya Saran.
