Redzikowo US missile defense base drone incident

On September 15, an unauthorized civilian drone was detected near the Aegis Ashore missile defense base in Redzikowo, Poland. The facility is a strategic installation operated by the US Navy and is critical to NATO security.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence confirmed that the drone was flying within a restricted no-fly zone, approximately 500 meters to 1 kilometer from the base, for about five minutes. Military officials stated that the drone was monitored by air defense systems throughout its flight and did not pose a threat to the facility's critical objects.

Reports indicated that instead of immediate neutralization, a military duty officer notified the civilian emergency number 112 and contacted the police. The Ministry has identified the location from which the drone was operated and is coordinating with law enforcement. The Ministry declined to provide specific details regarding the base's electronic warfare or surveillance capabilities due to security concerns.
