Drone strikes hit Ozon logistics hub and Rosneft refinery in Russia

On the night of August 22, a series of drone attacks targeted strategic infrastructure in Russia's Samara Oblast. The strikes hit two major facilities: the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, owned by Rosneft, and a massive logistics hub belonging to the marketplace Ozon in the city of Chapaevsk.

Reports from social media and OSINT analysts indicate that the attack on the Ozon complex, which spans over 135,000 square meters and represents an investment of over 5 billion rubles, resulted in large-scale fires and thick smoke. Simultaneously, the Novokuibyshevsk refinery, which has an annual capacity of approximately 8.8 million tons of oil, was also struck, causing significant explosions and fires.

A ‘UAV danger’ mode was declared in the region around 02:50 local time. While local sources and intelligence communities have documented the damage through video footage, official confirmation regarding the total extent of the economic and structural damage from the regional governor is still pending.
