Kurdistan Region of Iraq struck by multiple drone attacks on opposition bases and a military depot

A series of drone strikes hit Iraq's Kurdistan Region on Tuesday, targeting sites in Erbil, Koya, Daghla and a military artillery depot in Sulaimani province. The attacks set fire to forested areas and an artillery storage facility belonging to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), but no casualties were reported.

Kurdish officials said the strikes also hit the headquarters of several Iran‑opposed Kurdish parties, including the Iran‑based KDP faction and the Freedom Party. Prime Minister Masrour Barzani claimed that some of the drones were launched from areas around Mosul inside Iraq and urged the federal government to strengthen the region's air‑defence systems. Iran has denied involvement, though Iranian‑backed groups have previously carried out similar attacks in the area.
