Drug‑related arrests in Greece and Cyprus

Greek authorities detained an 18‑year‑old Afghan national at the Souda port in Crete after a routine inspection uncovered two genuine identity cards belonging to other individuals and a counterfeit ID. The young man was charged with possession of falsified documents under Greek law and the documents were seized by the Central Port Authority of Chania.

In Cyprus, police arrested a 35‑year‑old man in the Ammochostos district during an investigation that uncovered more than six kilograms of cannabis resin and one kilogram of synthetic cannabis (KIEF). The suspect was taken into custody on a court order, and three other men aged 49, 37 and 28 remain detained as the investigation by the Provincial Anti‑Narcotics Service continues.
