Chotomów driver arrested after drunken crash on roundabout
On 25 June 2026, a 54‑year‑old driver of an Opel entered the centre of a roundabout in Chotomów, Mazowieckie, Poland, while under the influence of alcohol. A breath‑alcohol test recorded a level of approximately 2.9 ‰. The driver’s vehicle struck the roundabout infrastructure, causing damage, and the man behaved aggressively.
A witness stopped the driver from fleeing until police arrived. Officers from the Legionowo County Police and the traffic department detained the man, impounded the vehicle and placed him under police supervision pending court proceedings. Prosecutors have charged him with driving while intoxicated, a crime punishable by up to three years' imprisonment, a heavy fine and a long‑term driving ban.
