Drunk Drivers Arrested After Separate Accidents in Constanța and Ploiești

On 10 June, police in Constanța County detained a 41‑year‑old man whose suspended licence and blood‑alcohol level of 0.92 mg/L were confirmed after he caused a collision near the city's exit toward Ovidiu. The crash injured a 77‑year‑old driver with minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene, was later located in Ovidiu and held for 24 hours pending prosecution.

Later the same day, a 54‑year‑old driver in Ploiești was found to have a blood‑alcohol level of 1.37 mg/L after he lost control of his car and struck a traffic‑light pole at the intersection of Gheorghe Doja and Văleni streets. The impact caused only material damage to the vehicle and the signal post. He was taken to a medical unit for alcohol testing and remains under investigation for driving under the influence.
