DS Automobiles launches hybrid version of the DS 7 SUV in France

DS Automobiles has introduced a hybrid variant of its DS 7 SUV, the model that succeeded the DS 7 Crossback after nine years and accounts for roughly half of the brand’s sales. The new hybrid offers 145 hp, does not include a plug‑in system, and is positioned as a modest step toward electrification while retaining the vehicle’s spacious design and premium interior. Test drives highlighted the car’s ventilated seats, effective climate control, and comfortable handling, noting a consumption of about 15 kWh per 100 km. Analysts compare the DS 7’s hybrid power to stronger German rivals, questioning whether the modest output will be enough to maintain its market share.

The launch aims to refresh the DS lineup and reinforce its position in the French premium‑SUV segment as the market gradually shifts toward electric and hybrid offerings.
