DS lineup: N°7 successor, DS 7 end, No8 debut
Entities: DS Automobiles · DS 7 · France · DS N°7 · Melfi plant
Overview
DS Automobiles has been expanding its premium SUV range throughout 2024‑2026. After debuting the compact DS N°7 in Turkey in July 2024 and launching it in Switzerland with prices from 42,900 CHF to 51,900 CHF, the model was equipped with a luminescent “Lumina Screen” grille, vertical LED DRLs, Active Scan Suspension and a 30 cm central touchscreen.
In July 2026, President Emmanuel Macron unveiled an armoured “Elysee” version for the Bastille Day parade, followed a week later by a 145 hp mild‑hybrid variant for France with upgraded seats and climate control. A limited‑edition DS 7 Edition Atlas was released for Morocco, and DS announced the end of DS 7 production at the Mulhouse plant after eight years and roughly 198,000 units. Remaining stock will be sold across Europe while a next‑generation DS N°7, built at Stellantis’s Melfi plant in Italy, is slated for a late‑2026 launch.
The new DS N°7 will replace the eight‑year‑old DS 7 and arrive in fully electric and hybrid versions. Three electric powertrains are planned: a 230 hp front‑drive model with a 73.7 kWh battery (≈542 km WLTP), a 245 hp long‑range version with a 97.2 kWh pack (≈740 km), and a 350 hp all‑wheel‑drive model. Prices in Switzerland start at 42,900 CHF for the gasoline version and 51,900 CHF for the electric version. The SUV offers a 560‑liter trunk (1,570 L with seats folded) and premium interior options such as heated/ventilated seats, a panoramic roof and a high‑end JBL sound system.
Simultaneously, DS introduced its first fully electric crossover, the DS No8, a coupe‑style C‑SUV powered by a 97.3 kWh battery and a 242‑hp front motor, aimed at the premium EV segment in markets like Saudi Arabia.
