DSB to double direct train services between Struer and Copenhagen

Starting December 13, the number of daily direct train services between Struer and Copenhagen will double, increasing from four to eight departures in each direction. This expansion is part of DSB’s takeover of rail operations from GoCollective in Midt- and West Jutland, as well as on the Svendborg line.

The Ministry of Transport stated that the increase aims to improve connectivity between regions and provide a boost to Midt- and West Jutland. Additionally, the increased frequency allows for existing trains in the region to be redistributed to make regional rail traffic more robust. The expansion will be conducted within the existing economic framework for DSB and regional rail services.

The transition follows a decision to end GoCollective’s operations in Denmark after previous management issues and delays. The early termination of the contract with GoCollective is subject to approval by the Finance Committee.
