DSS rescues kidnap victim in Imo State, Nigeria
The Department of State Services (DSS), working alongside other security agencies and local vigilantes, has rescued a 29-year-old man from kidnappers in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The victim, identified as Ibeabuchi Adibenma, was abducted on a Tuesday evening near the Afor-Ogidi Market in the Isiala Amaifeke Community while returning from the International Market in Orlu. Following the abduction, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦15 million from his family.
A coordinated intelligence-led operation took place in the early hours of Thursday in the Ihioma Community. During the rescue, security forces neutralized two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate and recovered two high-calibre weapons and ammunition. The victim has since been reunited with his family.
