Düsseldorf Airport: Traveler stung by scorpion hidden in jacket
A 52-year-old woman was stung by a scorpion that had been hiding in her jacket upon her arrival at Düsseldorf Airport in Germany. The traveler had recently returned from the Greek island of Kos.
Following the incident, emergency medical services provided first aid and transported the woman to a hospital. Due to the nature of the sting, which she described as feeling similar to a wasp sting, she was later transferred to a university clinic for specialized treatment.
A specialist from the Düsseldorf Fire Department, trained in handling reptiles and exotic animals, was called to the scene. The specialist successfully located and collected the scorpion, which was subsequently transferred to a local reptile park for safe housing.
