DSWD-NIR prepares UPLIFT payouts for 67,000 beneficiaries

The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Negros Island Region (DSWD-NIR) is preparing to roll out the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport Assistance (UPLIFT) to an additional 67,000 beneficiaries. Each recipient is slated to receive PHP 2,000 to assist with basic household expenses such as food, transportation, and fuel.

Beneficiaries were identified via the Philippine Statistics Authority’s Community-Based Monitoring System, targeting qualified poor and near-poor households under UPLIFT’s Group 2. This group consists of 2.5 million households nationwide that do not currently participate in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or the Walang Gutom Program.

To date, DSWD-NIR has completed an initial payout phase, distributing PHP 282,842,000 to 141,421 beneficiaries. The upcoming phase represents an estimated PHP 134 million in assistance. The UPLIFT program is a national government-funded initiative designed to help low-income households manage rising living costs linked to energy emergencies and geopolitical conflicts.
