Mirko Bortolotti Wins DTM Oschersleben, Delivering Lamborghini’s First Victory

Italian driver Mirko Bortolotti (TGI Team by GRT) captured his first DTM win at the Oschersleben weekend, marking the debut victory for the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3. Starting sixth, he benefitted from a pit‑stop error by polesitter Thomas Preining, who received a faulty tyre change, allowing Bortolotti to take the lead after the first mandatory stop and finish ahead of Maro Engel. The win reshaped the championship standings, with Engel extending his lead and Preining dropping to third. About 55,100 spectators attended the race.

The weekend also featured a high‑profile tyre‑mounting mistake by Pirelli that crippled DTM title‑contender Nicki Thiim. In qualifying, the Aston Martin team received front tyres mounted on the rear wheels and vice‑versa, forcing Thiim to qualify near the back and limiting his race performance. Both the unexpected Lamborghini triumph and the tyre controversy have drawn significant attention within the series.
