Dubai Advances Sustainability with Aviation-Environment MoU and LEED Building Push

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation on environmental sustainability, civil‑aviation safety and institutional innovation. The agreement calls for strategic partnerships, knowledge‑sharing, adoption of best practices and the use of advanced aviation‑grade tracking technology for environmental monitoring across Dubai’s ecosystems. Director‑General Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi of DCAA said the MoU shows a firm commitment to a safe and sustainable aviation ecosystem, while DECCA Director‑General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani highlighted its role in building a data‑driven environmental system.

In parallel, the United Arab Emirates continues to promote green building standards, with Dubai leading the effort. The government mandates LEED certification for new constructions and encourages existing buildings to achieve the rating. LEED certification offers higher rental and resale values, reduced operating costs and enhanced corporate reputation. Professional LEED consultants are essential to guide developers through feasibility studies, documentation, and compliance, ensuring projects meet the stringent sustainability criteria required in Dubai's market.
