Dubai introduces new online tourist visa services
Dubai has launched a new initiative allowing tourists to apply for single- and multiple-entry visas directly through the official Visit Dubai website. Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the service integrates visa applications into the same platform used by travelers to book attractions and plan holidays.
Fees for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa start at Dh200, excluding VAT, with a typical processing time of three working days. This move is part of broader efforts to enhance the emirate's tourism sector, alongside the introduction of the Dubai Access Club, an invitation-only membership program for repeat visitors.
The digital expansion aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the We the UAE 2031 national initiative, which aim to position the emirate as a top global tourism and corporate hub by doubling its economy within a decade. These strategies include the modernization of entry permit systems and streamlined electronic authorizations managed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
