Emirates airline launches crypto payment option via Crypto.com for UAE residents
Emirates has introduced Crypto.com Pay as a new checkout method for flight bookings, allowing eligible customers in the United Arab Emirates to settle tickets with cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The service is limited to payments priced and settled in Emirati dirhams and is available only to UAE residents who hold a Crypto.com account.
Buyers select Crypto.com Pay at the payment step on emirates.com or the Emirates app, are redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve the transaction, and then receive their booking confirmation and e‑ticket. The integration complies with UAE regulatory standards under the Central Bank’s stored‑value‑facility framework, which Crypto.com obtained in 2025.
Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim said the launch reflects the preferences of a younger, digitally‑fluent generation. With this rollout, Emirates joins airBaltic, Vueling and Peach Aviation as the only four airlines worldwide offering crypto‑linked flight payments, positioning the carrier at the forefront of Dubai’s push toward a cash‑less economy.
