Dubai Mallathon expands indoor fitness program across six malls
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince, launched the second edition of the Dubai Mallathon, a three‑month indoor walking and running programme that runs from 15 June to 15 September 2026. The initiative transforms six of the emirate’s largest shopping centres—Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Festival City Mall, Deira City Centre and Dubai Hills Mall—into air‑conditioned fitness tracks operating daily from 6 am to 10 am.
Participation is free and open to all residents, visitors and people of determination, with dedicated activities for women, seniors and families. The Mallathon supports Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and the UAE’s “Year of the Family” 2026, aiming to boost public health, community bonds and active lifestyles during the hot summer months. The inaugural 2025 edition set a Guinness World Record with 1,300 participants, and organisers expect the expanded event to attract thousands more.
Fitness trainers, competitions, prizes and retail offers are provided throughout the three‑month period, reinforcing Dubai’s vision of a city that prioritises health, tolerance and shared values.
