Dubai Pushes Ahead with Clean Energy Strategy 2050
Dubai has launched the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, aiming to position the emirate as a global hub for clean energy and achieve net‑zero carbon emissions by 2050. The plan targets a substantial increase in the share of renewable sources, especially solar power, with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park slated to deliver thousands of megawatts of electricity.
The strategy also includes strict green‑building regulations that promote energy‑efficient construction, water conservation and smart‑technology integration. Dubai’s transport network is being electrified through metro expansion, electric buses, expanded charging infrastructure and promotion of electric vehicles, further reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
