Dubai to implement new speed limits on five major roads
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Police General Command will implement revised speed limits on five road segments starting November 1, 2026. The changes, which apply to traffic in both directions, follow an engineering and technical study conducted with an international consultant to improve traffic flow and safety.
Three roads will see increased limits: Al Asayel Street will rise from 60 to 80 km/h on the stretch between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street; Latifa Bint Hamdan Street will increase from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road; and Al Mustaqbal Street will increase from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street.
Two roads will experience reductions: Al Rebat Street will drop from 100 to 90 km/h between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street will decrease from 80 to 70 km/h between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street. The RTA will install new signage and reprogram speed cameras to enforce the updated regulations.
