Dubai road traffic regulation updates
Overview
Dubai authorities have introduced several measures to manage traffic flow and safety across the emirate. In October 2026, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police implemented new truck movement restrictions. These measures include round-the-clock bans on specific locations such as Al Qudra Street, Meydan Street, all marine bridges, and the Airport Tunnel, while other areas face restrictions for up to 16 hours a day. Emirates Road remains exempt from these bans.
Following these restrictions, new speed limits were announced for five major road segments, effective November 1, 2026. Based on technical studies, speed limits will increase on Al Asayel Street, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street. Conversely, limits will be reduced on Al Rebat Street and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street. The RTA is responsible for installing new signage and updating speed cameras to enforce these changes.
