Indonesia Expands SIM Keliling Service to Major Cities

Indonesia’s mobile SIM‑Keliling units are operating in several cities to allow on‑site renewal of driver’s licence (SIM) A and C. The service runs on specific dates in August 2026 in Sleman, Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi and Bandung, with additional locations such as Mall Grand Cakung, LTC Glodok, Kampus Trilogi Kalibata, Mall Artha Gading, Kantor Pos Lapangan Banteng, Mall Jambu Dua, McDonald’s Lodaya and ITC Kebon Kelapa. Operating hours range from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, with weekend slots on Saturday evenings for the “SIM Keliling Malam Minggu” in Sleman.

Applicants must present original KTP, the current SIM and a copy, a health certificate and a psychological‑test result. Fees are set at Rp 80 000 for SIM A and Rp 75 000 for SIM C, exclusive of the health‑check costs. The programme also includes special privacy booths for hijab‑wearing women to record biometric facial data, aiming to make the mandatory biometric registration, required from 1 July 2026, more inclusive.

The expansion seeks to improve convenience, reduce the need to travel to central offices and protect user privacy while complying with the Ministry of Communication and Digital’s biometric registration mandate.
