Dubrovnik hosts police competition and religious conference

Two distinct events took place in Dubrovnik on September 19. The eighth annual ‘Shield of the Homeland Dubrovnik 2026’ competition, organized by the Ministry of the Interior, concluded on Mount Srđ. The event featured 83 participants, including Croatian police officers, veterans of the Special Police, and officers from Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, and North Macedonia. Competitors navigated a 30-kilometer course carrying approximately 10 kilograms of equipment while performing military-police tasks such as weapon assembly, orienteering, and tactical maneuvers.

Simultaneously, the 62nd Religious Days were held in Dubrovnik, focusing on the theme of ‘Artificial Intelligence, the digital world, and religious life.’ Organized by the Croatian Religious Conference, the gathering brought together members of the Dubrovnik Diocese to discuss the responsible integration of digital media and social networks into religious communities. Discussions included theological perspectives on maintaining human dignity in the age of data centers and technological advancement.
