Dubrovnik to host inaugural World Aquatics Water Polo 4x4 Championships

Dubrovnik will host the inaugural World Aquatics Water Polo 4x4 Open Championships from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The tournament features a new, faster, and more dynamic format designed to increase spectator engagement.

The competition will take place in the Old City Port of Dubrovnik, utilizing the open sea beneath the city walls and St. John Fortress rather than a traditional pool. The event will include 26 teams from five continents, consisting of 18 men's teams and eight women's teams. Participating nations include Croatia, Australia, Spain, the United States, Japan, and several others.
