Ducati unveils Desmo450 SM competition Supermotard

Ducati has unveiled the Desmo450 SM, a new competition Supermotard motorcycle derived from the Desmo450 MX platform. Designed for both professional and amateur racing, the model features a 449.6 cc single-cylinder Desmodromic engine that produces 63.5 HP at 9,400 rpm and 53.55 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

The motorcycle incorporates several high-performance technical upgrades, including custom Showa suspension with a 49mm fully adjustable inverted fork and Kashima coating. The braking system utilizes Brembo Stylema radial calipers and Galfer discs. To reduce unsprung mass, the bike uses 16.5-inch front and 17-inch rear Excel rims with a Bartubeless system.

Electronic features include adjustable traction control, launch control, a quickshifter, and engine brake control, all of which can be managed via the X-Link application. The machine is equipped with Metzeler Racetec Slick SM tires, similar to those used in World Championship racing.
