Ducati unveils Desmo450 SM racing supermoto

Ducati has officially unveiled the Desmo450 SM, the manufacturer’s first purpose-built racing supermoto. Developed from the Desmo450 MX motocross platform, the new model is designed specifically for competition on both asphalt and off-road sections.

The motorcycle features a 449.6cc single-cylinder engine equipped with Ducati’s signature desmodromic valve actuation. It produces 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, with a rev limiter set at 11,900 rpm. The machine is highly lightweight, with a curb weight of 109 kg excluding fuel.

Key technical specifications include a custom suspension setup developed with Showa, featuring a fully adjustable 49 mm closed-cartridge front fork and a fully adjustable rear mono-shock. The braking system utilizes Brembo and Galfer components, including a 310 mm front disc. The bike also incorporates Takasago Excel wheels with a tubeless system and Metzeler Racetec slick tires. Advanced electronics, such as traction control and a Suter slipper clutch, are included to manage performance during racing.

Sales in Europe are expected to begin in December 2026, with pricing in Germany starting at 13,290 Euro.
