Duran Duran to perform themed Halloween show at London's O2 Arena
British band Duran Duran is continuing its tradition of themed Halloween performances, with an upcoming special show scheduled for October 31 at the O2 Arena in London. This seasonal concept originated in 2022 following the band's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, when a performance date in Las Vegas coincided with Halloween.
The band has since turned these shows into an annual institution, characterized by elaborate costumes, gothic atmospheres, and theatrical elements such as pyrotechnics and dancers. These performances led to the creation of their 2023 album, ‘Danse Macabre’. The setlists often include covers of other artists, such as Billie Eilish and Talking Heads.
In recent interviews, band members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor reflected on their five-decade career and their ability to adapt to the changing music industry. The group also noted the contribution of former guitarist Andy Taylor to the ‘Danse Macabre’ project, despite his ongoing battle with stage 4 prostate cancer.
