Duran Duran Halloween performance tradition

Overview

British band Duran Duran is preparing for its annual themed Halloween performance, scheduled for October 31 at London’s O2 Arena. This tradition, which began in 2022, is characterized by gothic atmospheres, elaborate costumes, and theatrical elements that inspired the band’s 2023 album, ‘Danse Macabre’.

Lead singer Simon Le Bon has reflected on the band’s history, noting a lack of ‘street credibility’ during their 1980s emergence. While Le Bon stated he is not personally a fan of Halloween, he has embraced the annual shows, having previously performed in costumes such as a werewolf or a jellyfish. Bandmate Nick Rhodes noted that the group has maintained a sense of humor throughout their career despite their early image.
