Duratón Archaeology Conference and Galicia Youth Heritage Volunteering Launch in Spain

The fifth edition of the V Jornadas "Celtíberos y Romanos en el alto Duratón" will run from 10 to 24 May in Duratón and Sepúlveda, featuring three conferences, two workshops and a guided tour that highlight archaeological research from the Celtic to Roman periods. The opening lecture on 10 May will be delivered by Santiago Martínez Caballero, director of the Segovia Museum and the Confloenta excavations.

From 10 May to 17 May, the Xunta de Galicia’s "Modo Verán Activo" programme will host two volunteer camps in Deza and Tabeirós‑Montes. More than 600 young people aged 18‑30 will participate in activities such as heritage documentation, environmental clean‑ups, cultural workshops and a kayak route on the Ulla River. The camps were presented by Culture Councilor José López and Youth Directorate head Lara Meneses.

Both initiatives aim to promote regional cultural heritage, engage the public and foster community involvement across Spain.
