Durupınar Formation scans reveal anomalies near Mount Ararat

An international research team investigating the Durupınar Formation near Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey has identified subsurface anomalies that challenge the long-held view of the site as a uniform rock mass. The 157-meter-long boat-shaped formation has been a subject of interest for those searching for the biblical Noah’s Ark.

Using BakhtarRadar, a specialized imaging technology derived from US Air Force research, the study led by Dr. Khosrow Bakhtar detected distinct layers and strong underground anomalies. While the data has not yet established a clear separation between the formation and the underlying bedrock, the findings suggest the structure may be more complex than a single geological block.

Andrew Jones, founder of Noah’s Ark Scans, stated that the team intends to use these radar results to select precise sites for core drilling. These physical samples will be analyzed to determine if the anomalies have a natural geological origin or represent man-made or ancient structures. Researchers noted that while the findings are intriguing, the results remain preliminary and do not yet prove an archaeological origin.
