An international multidisciplinary research project has commenced at the Durupınar Formation in Turkey’s Ağrı Province to investigate claims that the site contains the remains of Noah’s Ark. These findings, which include regular-edged cavities, have led researchers to suggest the structures could potentially be “rooms belonging to Noah’s Ark.” While the data has not yet established a clear separation between the formation and the underlying bedrock, the results challenge the assumption that the site is a single, homogeneous rock mass.

Preliminary soil analysis has revealed that the carbon content in the interior of the formation is approximately 40 percent higher than in the exterior, which may indicate the presence of organic matter or wood remains. To further investigate these organic traces, the team plans to collect approximately 1,000 soil samples. Researchers noted that while the findings are intriguing, the results remain preliminary. Definitive results from the study are expected to be announced within two months.

Recent updates confirm that ground-penetrating radar (GPR) scans have revealed underground anomalies featuring linear patterns and right-angle structures, which may suggest the existence of corridors or internal compartments beneath the surface. Dr. Cenker Atila noted that while the carbon discrepancy potentially indicates buried organic matter, such as ancient wood, no physical wooden structures have been found yet. Researchers emphasize that radar anomalies alone are insufficient to confirm an archaeological structure or validate the Noah’s Ark theory.
