Durupınar Formation research continues in search of Noah's Ark

An international team of researchers is conducting investigations at the Durupınar Formation in eastern Turkey to determine if the boat-shaped geological structure contains remnants of Noah’s Ark.

Using ground-penetrating radar (GPR), the group Noah’s Ark Scans has developed a 3D model of the formation in its current state. Professor Cenker Atilla, head of the Durupınar Formation Research Project, reported that approximately 20 percent of the radar studies are complete. The team has identified corridor-like structures and room-like voids, as well as a three-story geological formation that some suggest could relate to biblical descriptions of the ark.

Researchers have also collected small amounts of charred wood and soil samples for analysis. Carbon-14 testing is currently underway in laboratories in both Turkey and France to determine the age and species of the wood. While the team hopes to disprove previous studies that labeled the site a purely natural rock formation, experts emphasize that the current data is not yet sufficient to reach a definitive conclusion.
