Dutch churches in Ommen and Nijkerk open for public tours in summer 2026
The Reformed church on Kerkplein in Ommen will be open to visitors on four Wednesdays—29 July, 5, 12 and 19 August—from 12:00 to 16:00. Each day includes a short mid‑day service, organ concerts, and volunteer talks about the building’s history. Featured organists and pastors rotate throughout the weeks, and the choir Con Brio performs on 19 August.
The Grote Kerk in the centre of Nijkerk will also welcome the public every Saturday from 14:00 to 16:00, starting 18 July and running through 5 September 2026. Visitors can view the 1756 organ, a 1789 pulpit with historic carvings, and the 1600s Van Renselaer family tomb, with staff on hand to explain the church’s heritage.
