Dutch citizens honored with Order of Orange-Nassau decorations

Two individuals have been appointed as members of the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of their extensive volunteer work and community service in the Netherlands.

José De Kleijnen-van Kempen from Sint Anthonis received the royal decoration following her long-term commitment to the Zandseveld Neighborhood Association. Since 1984, she has been an active volunteer, serving on the board for 30 years, including 15 years as secretary. Her contributions include organizing the annual Zandsevelddag, managing member administration, and publishing the neighborhood newsletter. She has also volunteered with the Beekse Boys football club and supported local community initiatives.

Guus Breebaart was honored for her significant contributions to the Historical Association Alkmaar (HVA) and other local organizations. At the HVA, she served as a board member for nine years and currently holds roles as an honorary member, hostess, and jury member for the Oud-Alkmaar Prize. Additionally, Breebaart has volunteered at the Great Church of Alkmaar since 2002, coordinating volunteers and managing tours, and previously served as treasurer for the Royal Nature and Literary Society Physica in Alkmaar.
