Dutch citizens receiving Order of Orange-Nassau decorations

Overview

In August and September 2026, several Dutch citizens were appointed as members of the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of their long-term volunteer work and community service.

Recipients honored in August included José De Kleijnen-van Kempen for her decades of service to the Zandseveld Neighborhood Association and local football clubs, and Guus Breebaart for her contributions to the Historical Association Alkmaar and the Great Church of Alkmaar.

In September, Geert van Els was recognized for his dedication to the De Bokkeschieters Jeu de Boules association and the De Hultenhoek residential farm. John Bons was also honored for his extensive involvement with the CV De Waterratte carnival association, Stadssjötterie St. Leendert, and the Urmondia football club.

Further appointments in mid-September included Camil Giebels in Roermond, who received the distinction following 50 years of membership in the Koninklijk Roermonds Mannenkoor (KRM). Giebels has served as a board member for over 35 years and founded the association magazine ‘Zangzaod’. In Feanwâlden, Kees Broersma was honored for over 25 years of volunteer work, including leadership roles in Stichting Mei Elkoar Ien (MEI) and the founding of Stichting Us Doarp, which supports local festivals and community activities.
