Dutch citizens honored with Order of Orange-Nassau for community service

Two individuals in the Netherlands have been appointed as members of the Order of Orange-Nassau for their extensive community service and dedication.

In Roermond, Camil Giebels received the royal distinction following 50 years of membership in the Koninklijk Roermonds Mannenkoor (KRM). Giebels has served as a board member for over 35 years, holding roles including treasurer and currently first secretary. His contributions include founding the association magazine ‘Zangzaod’ and organizing various musical and community events such as the Ceciliafeest and the Kunstmarkt.

In Feanwâlden, Kees Broersma was honored for more than 25 years of volunteer work supporting local villages. Broersma has held leadership roles in Stichting Mei Elkoar Ien (MEI) and founded Stichting Us Doarp. His efforts have facilitated numerous community activities, including King's Day celebrations, local festivals, and the recent Winterwike event, which featured an ice rink and various community gatherings.
