Dutch companies Gloovy and Macs receive sustainability awards
Two Dutch companies, Gloovy and Macs Food Handling Solutions, have been awarded the ‘Groene Pluim’ (Green Plume) for their commitment to sustainable and socially responsible business practices.
Gloovy, based in Oisterwijk, develops circular disposable gloves. The company collects used gloves and processes them into new raw materials, such as phone cases. After collecting approximately 150,000 gloves in 2025, the company aims to increase that number to 900,000 this year. To minimize emissions, Gloovy produces in Germany to reduce transport distances and is considering building its own factory in Midden-Brabant.
Macs Food Handling Solutions, located in Deurne, received the award for its work in developing industrial packaging lines for the food industry. The company focuses on longevity, reducing food waste through precise weighing and dosing technology, and minimizing assembly waste. Macs operates a gas-free facility with an A++++ energy label, powered by nearly 800 solar panels. Additionally, the company emphasizes professional development, with 70 to 75 percent of its staff trained through internal apprenticeships and internships.
