Dutch sustainability and circular economy recognition

Overview

Dutch companies and initiatives are receiving recognition for sustainability and circular economy practices.

In mid-September, the De Transparante Tuinder initiative was awarded the Plantum Impact Prize 2026. This public-private partnership involving Wageningen University & Research focuses on making sustainability performance measurable within greenhouse horticulture to improve water quality visibility. Additionally, Royal FloraHolland nominated five companies for its Sustainability Award, highlighting innovations in biological crop protection, waste-to-fertilizer conversion, and sustainable cultivation.

By the end of September, the companies Gloovy and Macs Food Handling Solutions were awarded the ‘Groene Pluim’ (Green Plume) for sustainable and socially responsible business practices. Gloovy was recognized for developing circular disposable gloves by processing used gloves into new raw materials, while Macs Food Handling Solutions was honored for its industrial packaging lines that reduce food waste and operate in a gas-free, solar-powered facility.
