Dutch couples celebrate 60th wedding anniversaries

Two couples in the Netherlands are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversaries, marking 60 years of marriage.

In Millingen, Jan and Riki van Lier – Meeuwissen celebrated their 60th anniversary on August 9. The couple met through a table tennis association and were married by Mayor Hermsen. Jan worked as a house painter and ship residential painter, while Riki worked at the local town hall. They have three children and four grandchildren.

In Zuid-Beijerland, H. Groenenberg and Z. M. Groenenberg-Leeuwenburgh celebrated their 60th anniversary on August 25. Alderman Miranda den Tuinder visited the couple to offer congratulations on behalf of the municipal government. The couple, who have lived in the Hoeksche Waard region, have three children and six grandchildren.
