Dutch energy sector introduces new home battery tools and products

New tools and products are emerging in the Dutch market to help solar panel owners manage energy storage more effectively. The startup WattWizard has launched a calculator designed to help consumers determine the ideal capacity for a home battery based on specific energy data, including solar generation, consumption, contract types, and electric vehicle usage. This tool is being integrated into the ++ subscription through a partnership with Bright.

Simultaneously, energy company Budget Thuis has announced it will sell Zendure plug-in home batteries to its customers. The basic model offers a capacity of 1.92 kWh, expandable up to 5.76 kWh. The system is designed to store surplus solar energy produced during the day for use during evening peak hours. Budget Thuis aims to use app-based management to optimize storage and plans to offer a ‘Battery Bonus,’ where a portion of the benefits gained from aggregated battery management is returned to customers.
