Dutch fans paint towns orange as they cheer the national team at the U.S. World Cup

In Lunteren, Gelderland, a resident known as “Orange Elvis” travels to the United States to follow the Dutch national football team at the World Cup, wearing an Elvis‑style orange costume and accompanying a small group of friends to every match. The troupe has attended the group stage games against Japan, Sweden and Tunisia and holds tickets through to the final in New York.

Meanwhile, in the town of Bleiswijk, South Holland, neighbours have dressed their streets in orange banners, flags and lights to welcome each Dutch match. Residents have set up a party tent with a screen, barbecue and music, expecting 30‑50 visitors for the Saturday game. The local fans remain confident the team will become world champions.

Both initiatives reflect the community enthusiasm that has spread across the Netherlands as the World Cup is staged in the United States.
