Overview

The Netherlands’ 2026 World Cup exit triggered a wave of racist abuse that prompted the KNVB to open a criminal‑action pathway and launch an online reporting portal. Coach Ronald Koeman stepped down on 1 July, citing his wife’s breast‑cancer diagnosis, and the federation has narrowed its search for a successor to Arne Slot, Peter Bosz, Michael Reiziger and Erik ten Hag.
