Dutch jazz festivals showcase emerging talent and live collaborations
On 29 October, a special early‑start concert by Das Sound Kollektiv will take place in the Netherlands, offering a €10 discount for guests aged 33 and over. The event features live beats and jazz performances by Kasper Rietkerk, Chiel van Rijn, Bas Gankema and Hugo Hinkel, blending influences from Stevie Wonder, J. Dilla, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis.
The PJPJ JazzFest returned to Voorschoten on 16 May, spreading across three halls of the Cultural Centre Voorschoten. The three‑day program includes a new big‑band of musicians aged 12‑18, students from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and the headline vibraphone‑piano quartet of Miro Herak and Daniel Bulatkin, who perform material from their album *Elysium*. The festival emphasizes small‑scale, accessible jazz, culminating in a jam session where performers improvise together. Children up to 12 attend free of charge.
