Dutch logistics firms unveil high‑tech, sustainable distribution centres

Logistics service provider VTS opened a 33,000 m² multi‑level pharmaceutical distribution centre in Boxmeer. The warehouse uses autonomous mobile robots from German startup Filics and Hai Robotics for pallet transport and box‑buffering, managed by an in‑house fleet‑management system. VTS says the robots cut loading time by half an hour per truck and the facility has earned the Top 100 Logistics Service Innovator award for the second year running.

ID Logistics began construction of a new 53,000 m² distribution campus on the Medel business park in Tiel, slated for completion in October 2027. Built to BREEAM Excellent standards and powered by a local energy hub that operates without grid connections, the site includes an “Innovation Box” for testing logistics technologies and will provide 300‑500 jobs across two shifts. Both projects highlight a shift toward automation and sustainability in Dutch supply‑chain infrastructure.
